The Science Behind Soul-Healing Skincare

Reiki is currently very popular, yet skeptics often dismiss it, considering it to be mere fluff. But there is a science behind Reiki, and it's being studied by the brightest minds the world over!

Dr. David Hamilton states...

"Similarly, a 2019 review in the British Medical Journal Supportive & Palliative Care, reported that “Reiki therapy is useful for relieving pain, decreasing anxiety / depression, and improving quality of life in several conditions.”

Sometimes these studies are done in hospitals. One took place at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennysylvania with patients who had undergone total knee replacement surgery, a very common surgery in the US. Twenty-three patients received reiki and 20 didn’t – for comparison. Pain was assessed before the operation and each day afterwards. Those who received the reiki were in significantly less pain than those who didn’t.

The results were so compelling, in fact, that the hospital soon established a dedicated reiki program where 10 nurses were trained and certified in reiki. Now, knee anthroplasty patients there are routinely offered reiki and enjoy a little bit less pain as a consequence."  - Is There Science On Reiki

We might have heard that we all have an electro-magnetic (energy) field within us. Some might say it's where our "gut instinct" comes from. As living beings we can tell when an area feels off, has bad vibes, is creepy... you get the idea. This is due to the change in our electro-magnetic field. One of the biggest ones in our body is the heart. A wave of electricity runs down from the upper right side of our heart, across to the bottom left, allowing it to beat. When that field is stunted or damaged, we get a pace maker put in to facilitate that electricity to keep our hearts beating.

We may have also heard that the 1st law of thermodynamics is that energy can't be created, nor destroyed. Basically, it can only change. This is what helps Reiki BE Reiki.

As you might have seen our Reiki Master, Erin Bush, explain Reiki doesn't have to be done in person. Distance Reiki is something that became widely used during the pandemic. You can view her video on it on our YouTube channel here.

The aim of a reiki practitioner is to channel energy to support the individual's natural healing process. Essentially, they work with electric and magnetic fields to facilitate this healing energy.

Plus Erin's own state is crucial to her application of Reiki. She mentions that she draws on specific memories that evoke the emotions and energies she infuses into our products based on that line's intention.

Reiki practitioners are trained to reach these states when working with their clients. Erin's goal is service, she acts in the ‘highest good’ of her client, or in our case, you!

"When you are in a such heart-focused state, you help people close to you move towards a similar state. I think most of us have probably noticed this in our own lives, either as the one affecting another person, or as the one being affected. There are people that most of us know who have a natural warming presence. You may be one of them! That you come to feel better (mentally and / or physically) around them is known as the ‘natural healer effect’." - Is There Science on Reiki?

When an object, or one of our products is being "infused," Erin is channeling that energy into the body butter, bath bomb, lotion, etc. And that energy is then held there until it is opened and used by you!

Most of us don't know that there is a wealth of scientific research being done on Reiki and why it works. But it does work. And we're so excited to not only bring you amazing skin care products, but infuse them with Reiki so that you can be living your best life. With healthy and vibrant skin, and a healthy and vibrant soul.

That's the kind of science we like!
